How much should I sell this guitar for?

So I stupidly bought this cheap Jackson for 300 dollars. The pick ups were aweful so I swapped in some extra ones that are much better, an EMG-HZ for the humbucker and two strat type pick ups from my Dean.

I $65 for the pick up installation which may have not been the best route in trying to get money out of it.

It's made in Indonesia, here is my craigslist ad.

How much do you think it would go for? It's been up for several weeks and no one has contacted me.

I was thinking about going the ebay route but I'm guessing the shipping would be a loooooot.

What do you guys think?

Thanks.

$380 for a used, Indonesian Jackson?

Um, no.

Re: How much should I sell this guitar for?

I have a 1994-1995 Made in Japan Jackson Kelly Performer that I have been unable to sell for $200. I think $380 is significantly off the mark for a used Indo Jackson in this economy. Sorry man.

I hate to say it, but I think you're screwed. You're going to have to take a loss on this one. :(

Just gradually replace every part on it, one piece at a time. Ten years and $2,000 later, you'll have a guitar that's easily worth a solid $500.

Re: How much should I sell this guitar for?

One time, one of my roommates had Jackson Rhodes (some midrangey model) that his eccentric, non-guitar-playing sister purchased because she "liked the way it looked."

This guitar was absolutely brand new. Unplayed. The only time it had ever been plugged in was when I tuned it, and played it for like 12 seconds before deciding I hated it. Oh, and it had a matching Jackson hardshell case (the $150 one custom fitted for the Rhodes.)

My roommate wanted me to post it on CL for $450. I told him there was no way. Ended up posting it at $400 OBO. Bunch of offers for $100-$200. Not one serious inquiry. Reposted a month later at $300 OBO.

I think he ended up selling it for like $200.

Good luck, man.

I gave mine away --- I bought mine for $67.51 and put $0 into it - but it was not a guitar I felt right "selling" since it was kind of...you know...not that great

Re: How much should I sell this guitar for?

you could've bought that guitar new for $300

good job

Brutal but true.

You're going to have to either take a loss on this or keep it around and get your moneys worth out of playing it. If you don't like playing it that much then you're screwed. Chalk it up as a learning experience and move on.

If you decide to sell it you'll probably get more if you sell the hardcase seperately. Just a suggestion. You might even save a few bucks by putting the stock ****ty pups back in and selling the EMG-hz on its own as well.

I would try to do this.

say $150 for the guitar, $40 or so for the case. $30-$35 for the pickup.
