The '69 and '70 are not suited to everyone's taste & needs. I have the Ultimate Octave, which I think has a brilliant fuzz, but it is a lot thicker and more robust than the '70. Without being able to try it ... I dunno.

The original Fulltone 69's and 70's I've seen on Ebay are listed for big bucks..like 300-400 dollars.

Some old 69's can bring big bucks but being listed at $400 and selling for big bucks are 2 different things...
FWIW and IMHO no 69 pedal is worth more than $150 give or take a few bucks.
As for the 70's...never seen one bring more than $175 and thats easily $60 too much!

I regret selling my old low serial number 69 pedal. I remember when buying it, I A/B'd the 69 and 70, and the 69 sounded better.
Now that they've got both versions in the compact enclosure, the prices of the big box ones have dropped a bit. I usually see the 70 for around $150 and the 69 for $300 - $400. With all the great fuzz pedals out there, I think it's silly.
Now that I've got the Dunlop Jimi silicon FF and Bonamassa Germanium FF, I need to do a tone test and see how they compare. I'm also thinking of springing for the Eric Johnson FF, just so I've got all three as a mini collection.
Unfortunately, my recording setup is in storage for awhile, so I can't record clips. I'm planning on selling it all and getting a simpler computer recording setup. Too bad 90's recording gear didn't appreciate in value like the rest of the gear did. dammit

If this is a good question and the answer from the OP is investment let me just say that Fulltone pedals are never going to be an investment...the early Hammond box units are worth a fair bit but past that no dice...
