How NOT to relic a guitar

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

Wow. Where can I get me a cancer-free cigarette burn decal? :eyecrazy:

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

that is the ugliest work I've ever seen. What made him think that looked like anything *remotely* resembling real?
I think I just lost even more respect for humanity.

he also needs to learn some english.

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

I'm concerned about the overall prevalence of these so-called "reliced" guitars. Someone worked very hard to remove the lice from them, and these clowns go and infest them all over again.

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

Is this relic trend over yet? It started in the mid 90's, when everyone realized vintage guitars were out of the price range. And now, here we are 16 years later with Fender making budget MIM versions, and rich beginners taking their new R9's to RS Guitar Works, hoping they F it up nicely.

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

I relic my guitars the old-fashioned way...

By having clumsy bass players bumping into me! :D

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

That makes me equal parts sad and angry. Why botch a good instrument like that? Its not like anyone's going to pay more, and it looks like sh!te

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

So are you guys saying that's not a genuine vintage instrument?

Cheers....................................... wahwah

i needed a new electric guitar for a band i was in once... one with a piezo system bridge and i spent my cash on a nice new Godin that i thought was amazing! still do... it was my first new guitar in many many years as all my buys are normally used fixer uppers...

very first band practice with it my Godin and the bass player's bass headstock met rather hard... relic'ed the first day!

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

The cream one isn't that bad (not that I'd play or buy it but still not nauseating) but the black one is emesis-inducing fo' sho!

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

The description is hilarious: it was a "pains taking" project. Read it. It says pains taking rather than painstaking. That's hilarious!

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

"the body ,neck and all the hardware is also reliced along with a simulated cigarett burn ,,not done by a cigaret ,,so it cancer free"

Hah!

But seriously... **** this guy.

Re: How NOT to relic a guitar

Good grief! You can see the sandpaper scratch pattern on the neck plate. Probably watched a special on HGTV about reliced guitars and decided to tackle a few himself.

LOL... no surprize there. My old bass player relic'd my mint PRS Custom 24 with "10" flame top back in the late '90s. I was thrilled...
