I have an American Fender Strat and 2 SD pickups (the TB-4 for the bridge and the SH-2N for the neck) that I want to put in. Should I get them wired together with 3-way switching or split the coils with 5-way switching?

No one can rightly answer this question for you...which do you prefer? I'm a simple plug 'n' play kind of guy so I'd opt for the 3 position switch. But I'm not you so...
What bands do you like, what kind of music do you play? Do you have other single coil guitars? Do you need/like single coil tone?
I like playing stuff like punk, ska, alternative, some emo, stuff like that. The single coils I have in my strat now aren't really giving me the heavy sound I want. What I am thinking about is if the coils are split, will it still make noise like a single coil? But I have been told that the SH-2N sounds like a single coil anyway.
