i read it, and it really makes sense. Sometimes we focus so much on our chops that we can't even play in perfect time for everything alse.
I just got back on the metronome working slow on my scales and chord rhythms since i havent deliberately worked on that stuff for a while, and it really cleans up your playing. It IS better to sound great and neat playing something simple than to trash something that's hard.
Kind of like - hey - get professional. I play with a drummer at my church who is constantly all over the tempo map - gets really aggravating. I find myself thinking unchristian thoughts :smack:. Hard to believe that they suggest that drumemrs use metronomes.
Sobering in that even with your own band they may call someone else in to record the part. :blackeye:
