How to add status LED to RAT or DOD 250 pedals?

Hey,

A question for Stratdeluxer or others...

What is the best way of adding a status LED to an old RAT and a DOD Overdrive/Preamp 250? If you have suggestions for components, that would be great too.

It's so annoying using the "play it to see if it's on" method (though the RAT gives you a pretty clear clue, since it puts out a lot of noise when on).
