That would certainely do the trick. I'm tempted to get a tremol-no but I would need at least 2.

Yea these are the overwound strat pups that i hated with a bridge humbucker, but they sound pretty cool by themselves. Insane sustain with the lag bolts on the brass block.

Right on man...the 12th fret inlay was hard to distinguish what it was, but it put me into mind of it being an LTD. I also had an M-100 many years ago. It was a nice guitar to mod and thrash around, kinda like what you're doing.. if I'm remembering correctly it had a basswood body.
It was originally see-thru Black, but I painted it Fluorescent Pink with a Black bengal graphic and a single DiMarzio Breed in blk/creme. Scalloped the frets from the 12th-24th tuned it to Eb with 8-38s..
