How to determine body wood on PRS CE 24?

I'd like to get a PRS CE 24 in alder to round out the collection, and have found a 2008 model from a local dealer for sale. However, he's not sure what the body wood is exactly. It doesn't appear to be a maple cap as it's neither flamed or quilted, so the obvious (at least I think) choices would be either mahogany or alder. Anyone know how to determine the body wood type? Thanks!

You might be able to remove the neck and look(?), but it seems like the easiest thing to do would be to get the serial number and ask PRS.

Thanks for the reply....and that's what I've done as the dealer was being 'slightly' less than helpful.

Are you sure about the date? PRS' numbering system does not distinguish very well between decades.

I would expect a Noughties CE to be maple on mahogany. An all alder body would be correct for 1988.

Definitely not sure about the date, but the top doesn't look like maple. I've opted to send off the serial number to customer service due to all the question marks.
