How to flip the magnet in a humbucker pickup?

I've been trying to find a reasonable price for an SD Greenie pup but the NZ importers want a horrendous price for one - it's almost cheaper to fly over to the US to buy one there!!

So, I'm thinking that if I bought another Seth Lover to go with the one I've already got, I could flip the magnet in one of them and then I've got what I want.

Only problem is, I've no idea how to go about this and can't seem to find any vids on how to do it anywhere.

So can anyone here tell me exactly what's involved and whether it's a practical thing to attempt to do??

Flipping a magnet or buying a special pickup is the tough way of putting pickups out of phase with each other. (Yes, I looked up the description of the SD Greenie).
As of this moment, you could put the pickups out of phase by reversing the wires of one of them. If you don't want that sound in the middle position all the time, then wire in a phase switch.

That "out-of-phase" sound is a bit nasal all the time
a wiring thing with a switch would get you what you want very simply

seth lover is only 1 conductor with an outer braided shield, if those wires were switched you'd get the out of phase sound, plus a lot of noise. other than getting a 4 con pickup, flipping the magnet sounds like the way to go.

Well it seems that Del Pukeko didn't state what the other pickup is. If it is not one of those "one conductor and braid" types, the phase switch idea will work.

in the OP he said he would get another Seth to go with the one he has already got.

to the OP you could probably get a CS Seth with 4 con wire, OR change the wire to 4 con yourself.
i agree that permanent out of phase is nasally and not always useful and a switch would be more practical, but like i said if you're going to be using 2 Seths, you're gonna have to flip one of the mags or get a 4 con version. its pretty easy to flip a mag or install a 4 con wire. there is plenty of info on this site, just use the search tool

Why would he need another Seth Lover if he already has two?
