Hi guys right now i have a MIM strat with a hotrial in the bridge and play thorugh a crappy ten watt marshall practice amp. IM looking to see how i can make my sound nicer. Im looking for something more vintage soudning and at the same time can play modern rock. IM looking for versatiitly and i dont think the hotrial is cutting it well in terms of vintage sound. I would like to havea single coil humbucker in the bridge to avoid hum and the other two can be anything or can be left stock i dont mind they soudn decent enough as it is but the bridge has gotta go i think. Also what amp would compliment it nicely? IM looking for a smaller tube amp in the rnage of 30 watts or so. Somewhting reasonably affordable as well.

thanks for your advice in advance.

well, for the amp situation, i think a peavey classic 30 is perfect for you styles. its amazing for vintage sounds, and soaks the modern rock distortion perfectly. do try it out.

^^^^, what he said. Or, if you're wanting alot more versitility, try the Roland Cube 15 and 30. They're pretty kickass too.

As for the bridge pup, the best of the lil buckers I have tried is the Lil 59'. It's got a good vintage type voice, similar to the full size 59', but a little thiner and brighter because of it's size and magnet type (ceramic).

For the mid pups you have a bunch of great choices. The APS's are some of the best, as are the Ant's and even the SSL-1's. If you want to go completely noiseless, the Duckbuckers are really nice. My only beef with them was they weren't that great under a lot of gain, but low to moderate gain they are fine.

In the amp dept, these guys are probably right on with the Peavy combo's. Probably the most reasonable combo's dollar for dollar out there.

Peavey amps are the Shiz, yo!!!

Agreed, I have one and it is just as clean as a fender blues junior.

Did you ever get it fixed? I remember you were having some trouble with it, and you thought it was the power tubes.

Re: how to get a good sound out of my strat?

I moved my amp like 2 feet away from where it was. I think it was the electrical wiring of these house here. Who knows? I haven't moved it, why **** up a good thing? :D

Re: how to get a good sound out of my strat?

so the peavey amp is a tube amp? Ive never ehard of this amp before. about how much would this cost? and its about 30 watts in power?

Re: how to get a good sound out of my strat?

noiseless strat pickups? a 59 or a cool rail, or a little JB may benefit you. hell, its a strat, you could do all

ok ive looked at the amp on their site, and my only beef with it is that it really only has one channel, sure it can switch but the channels are not seperate. Another 30 watter im looking at is the F30 as well, but it costs mroe than the classic obviously.
