How to get chainsaw sound like on soilworks machinegun majesty?

Okay im not a huge fan of death metal...but they do have some kick a$$ tones and solos sometimes...and this song machinegun majesty by soilwork is one of them!

There is a bit in it where it sounds like the guitarist somehow makes a chainsaw or a drill sound at 4:05 in the song.

Now is this actually the guitar or something else...and if it is the guitar how the heck do you do that!?!?!

My amp sounds like a chainsaw when I use a big clean boost on the mids. Probably isn't healthy for it.

get a minidisc player, set it playing, hold it up to the pickups. just about anything works for that stuff - digital cameras make some weird sounds too - the pickups will 'hear' all sorts of noises

btw havnt heard the song, but its a cool sound anyway

i think (just downloaded sed chainsaw song!!) that it is some kind of whammy diveboming manouver. kinda pouting the strings realy low with the trem bar and then rateling them, with feedback or somthing els (PERHAPS A WOODLAND CREATURE?)
also there is tat posability that its just some noise produced whilst mixing the song. it may have bin a vocal at some point. who knows? or cares? all i say is that you can get a similay sound by feeding back, w/efects and slack strings

If it helps , that part of the song was sampled ( played from the board ) when I saw them a few months ago.............
