Okay, I'm currently planning on getting two guitar rigs together for myself and my other guitarist in my band, the thing is the only two rigs the store has in my area has (except for combos) is the EVH 5150 mark III 50 watt version and the Blackstar HT - 100. I was wondering if those two amps will sound good together or if I should buy another amp that would sound better with the 5150, cheers!:yourock:

Mostly distorted but cleans here and there, i'm looking for tones in a similar vein as limp bizkit or something like that.

It isn't so much the mixture or amps, but how/what two guitarists play, and how their EQ settings compliment each other. If one guitarist primarily plays rhythm, maybe keep a hold on the mids and up the treble and bass without making too extreme of adjustments that they can be heard without competing with the bass player, while the lead player would have a full, mid-boosted sound. Those two will sound huge together and blend nicely on solos. If there are twin lead guitarists that switch off, give them EQ pedals/boosts so they can go back and forth on the fly. Those two amps have a lot to like about them, and if they don't sound good, it's user error IMO.

If you're aiming for Limp Bizkit why are you worried about tone? Just focus on making sure your vocalist is as lame and cheesy as possible and nobody will even care about the rest of the band.

The musicianship of that band is not bad. But Durst's, ahem...singing... is like a whiney 13 year old that tries too hard to sound cool by using as many obscenities as possible.. Amazes me they still seem to be pretty popular at festivals and such. just sayin..

As far as amps.. as stated previously, almost any amps can be set to compliment each other. IMO, the main thing is make sure they are similarly powered. Meaning if you are going to gig, one guy cant use say a roland Cube and the other a 5150. (unless of course, you plan to mike up the cube.) Ive seen bands use Fenders and Mesa's.

There's a bunch of stereo setups that yield different results.
Two of the same - a fatter version of one sound.
One gainier, one cleaner - a lot of touch sensitivity and articulation.
Two different tube types or speaker types - wide spread and full, but sound changes when you stand closer to one.
EQ'ing one scooped, one midrangey. Again, the sound changes, depending in which amp you're closer to, but the mixed tone is huge.
