How to raise action on a floyd equipt axe?

I need to raise the action just a hair on a guitar to eliminate some fretting out on the guitar. (until I can afford a fret leveling.) Whats the best way to do that? Tighten the spring claw??

Your Floyd is 'attached' (well not really but you see what I mean ) to the body by two fulcrum posts (trem posts on the diagram). You need to raise the height of these posts. Here's a little diagram I made on my JT6, it may help.

Yep, use an allen wrench and raise the two posts it sits on.

Thank you! I thought about that but was worried it would bend the posts if they didnt have enough threading down into the body.. How long are those posts? I know abit about setups , but have always tried to lower my action.. usually have lowered it by adjusting the angle of the bridge. Never the height.

You can put tiny shims under the saddles, too. That way you won't have to readjust the posts on the bridge when you get the fretjob done, you can just remove the shims.

But considering that after the fretjob the frets themselves will also be of a different height, as well as the nut and relief intonation and such needing to be reset:

I´d use the posts for what they´re there for, especially considering that there´s a full setup in the future anyway

The bridge angle at "zero" should ALWAYS be parallel to the neck in standard situations. There ARE players that prefer it sitting back in the rout or leaned far forwards, but I can´t understand the logic at all, only makes setting intonation and action that much harder

I try to keep mine level. Just sometimes, alittle off. Ill tweak the posts. to raise the action
