How to re-create this cover look?

I believe some powdercoat is actually anodized, and some is just a spray-on treatment.
It might also be that nickel silver simply doesn't have the surface strength for the finish to be as durable as it is on steel.
My son used to work in an industrial powdercoating plant; I'll ask him next time we talk if I think of it.

No, the POWDER sticks to the part through electrical charge. And then it's put into an oven to cure. There's no anodizing and it's not a "treatment". It's like paint, only wayyyyy tougher.

Its not powder coating, then. Powder coating isn't fragile. Not in the automotive industry it isn't anyway. And I assume they use the same stuff as everybody else.

I don't know about the process. I know they call it 'powder coating' when you order it, and whatever it is on the pickups, you have to be careful when installing them.

You might try some "hammered pewter/copper/bronze" textured paint and then go flat black over it.

They are Seth Lovers, so they sound amazing in my Warmoth.

Ah, yes. I think you said that earlier. I have a set thats' been sitting around for ages. I really need to find something to put them in. An "f-hole" would be ideal, but I don't have one.
