How to recognize graphite nut?

Well,

My dean hardtail select came with a nut for which i thought (and many other guys here) that it`s made of black plastic.
Then, one guy who actually build guitars and mess with nuts all the time, took my dean up and said that is a graphite nut up there. I was confused and forgot to ask him more. So, now i would like to know how can i tell for sure.

Any hint?

Graphite is metallic and dark gray, almost black but not plasticey. You couldn't slice a little off with a knife, it is finer in consistency. Imagine a pencil. It's a bit like that.

Also, they react to heat different. Post a picture.

This is not metallic loking for sure. Well, if it is like pencil, should it leave any marks if rubbed with paper?

Exactly...

It's not pure graphite hahaha. Pure graphite wouldn't be able to hold up the strings.
