How to remove the cover off a Duncan pup?

Heres the deal. I bought a Brobucker from an esteemed forum member, and did not realise it had a chrome cover. I need a pup that is w/o cover. How does one go about removing that cover to get to the creamy center? No way I'm gonna off the "Bro". Not no way, not no how.

I think you posted in the wrong forum, but there are a couple ways...

Soldering iron, dremel and I've even used a razor blade. They all have their benefits. If you aren't handy with a soldering iron a dremel is fast but some people burn the covers due to excessive heat. A razor blade requires muscle, but pretty much zero skill. Whichever method you choos you just attack the 2 solder joints.

I've sawed through the joints with a razor blade. Benefits: You probably have a razor blade lying around even if you don't have a dremel or soldering iron, it doesen't generate heat or dust. Downside: crude, slow and kind of ridiculous...but it works.

And that's a nickel cover, not chrome.
