I raised the height of the stopbar in the picture to loosen the string tension, but even though I was careful, use of the screwdriver made slight marks and dings in the screwdriver slot on the stopbar. Seems like the stopbar piece is made of a softer metal.
For aesthetic reasons, i'd like to try and make those marks/chips less noticeable. How do I sand that slot without causing further wear to the surrounding surfaces? File? Sandpaper? What grit? Etc.
