How to turn gold into silver!?

The Gold bride on my Epi LP is turning silver on the places where I rest my hand when playing. Must be my sweat doing it's magic.

I was wondering if there was some way to speed up this process? By using some kind of chemical maybe?

Yeah I agree! But do you have an idea how?
I think the tuners (which are fine so there's no need to replace them) would be the hardest parts to 'silverise'.

run a few miles, wipe off your sweat with a nice rag, use the rag on the bridge an tuners. :laugh2:

Sulfuric Acid should do the trick.

I had pretty good results using StewMac's Polishing Compound.

I had the same problem occur, and I chose to go ahead and strip it prematurely.... I used Never-Dull. You simply pull a small patch outta the can and rub the hardware down with it. When the compund dries (within seconds) buff to a bright clean shine!!
