How to use the black box?

I installed the latest stuff and tried using it on my laptop recording with audacity. I'm obviosly doing something wrong because it just jumps into making a lot of noise a lot. I tried adjusting the latency and switching between direct input and mic.

If anyone has one i'd appreciate a guide on how to use this thing, thanks
