Hi everyone,
In order to improve the sound of the my Ibanez RG350DX, I bought a 59' SH1 and a JB (trembucker) to replace the existing INF3 and INF4 pickups, in the neck and bridge positions respectively.
Below picture depicts the original INF3 and INF4 wiring, the numbers in red enumerate the connections on the Ibanez 5 ways switch;

Regarding the SH1B: I connected the black (hot) wire to 1, soldered both its white & red wires to 6, and its green and bare wires to the ground (on the volume pot).
Regarding the JB: I connected the black (hot) wire to 3, soldered both its white & red wires to 8, and its green and bare wires to the ground (on the volume pot).
I'd like to keep the H/S/H original configurations available, where in the position 2 and 4 the humbuckers get split and combined with the single coil pickup. However when testing, I found that on those particular positions, the outputted sound is kind of strange, like it is a mixture of low volume signal from the split coil and a more dominant higher-volume signal from the middle pickup.
Also, on position 1 and 5, it looks / sounds like the Tone knob doesn't have any effect anymore on the outputted signal.
Any thoughts? What's going wrong here?
Are there official wiring diagrams for the Ibanez RG guitars + Seymour Duncan pickups, documenting the replacement process?
Thanks a lot,
Ilyes
