What would this setup be like? Would a p90 in the middle be able to give you that 70ish Mountain sound or would it have to be in the bridge? It would be awsome to have a bucker in the bridge for hard rock/metal stuff, but still be able to get that classic big & dirty p90 sound as well. Discuss please.

It will work ok, but you have to put it in the bridge for the bite. I played a reissue faded Les Paul DC with P-94s in it through a Marshal TSL 401 and it had bite like you wouldn't believe. They clean up nicely with a roll off of a little treble. It also hummed a lot because unlike Fender, Gibson doesn't shield their pickup cavities. I had doubts about whether the pickups were wax potted either. The Phat Cats are smoother than the Soap Bar Gibson type P-90s. I'd go with the 310 and two P-90s for Classic Gibson sound. I wouldn't want my P-90s to compete with hot humbuckers. You may want to shield your guitar if you go with P-90's as they are way hotter than Fender type singles.

Oddly enough, my SG with P-90s doesn't hum the slightest bit, and I've played it through 4 different amps* in various environments, many of them with near-by fluorescent lights and powered-on TV sets.
