I thought the TZ was ceramic? I could be mistaken. It's probably A5 now that I think about it.

Well it would HOPEFULLY make it tighter (to me that pickup really needs it...), but it'd also add lower mids. Maybe it'd get a bit brighter too, but you also could end up with something even mushier in the low mids/bass department.

I think you are thinking opposites here dude.

ceramics usually are a lot less middy.

Not quite. They're heavier in the low mids in my experience. So it's not as easy to notice. But they do tend to be slightly brighter in sound too.

Really ? Did you compare the EQ of the Custom sh5 (ceramic) and the Custom5 sh14 (alnico5) ?
