I've been checking out 1990 infinium clips lately - holy crap it sounds good. Like a Marshall with more & better features. In short, if you dig the amp it copies the infinium thing is a killer addition to that sound. Not sure if the one you're wanting has power scaling or not but that's a killer feature too.

I know some people will chime in about reliability - if you're in the USA, pick up a used one from Guitar Center and buy the extended warranty. If anything goes wrong they'll replace it/fix it/give you your money back.

It's a killer amp....if you buy a newer "Infinium" model there should'nt be a problem. Mine has'nt given me a moments' trouble in the year & a half or so I've had it. Play around with the preamp tubes if you need to...I swapped a couple of the stock ones for JJ's. The EL34's it ships with are pretty awesome (Shuguangs).

well im definitely buying a brand new one, there pretty cheap and the only complaints ive heard are that its unreliable, so the newer ones are more realiable u say? interesting, probably will pick it up as i love having two gain channels... whats the footswitch like? ive never seen much of it

As far as reliability goes... yeah they fixed things, so I've heard....& mine's been a rock :)

Re: hows the bugera infinium 333xl

what about the 6262?

Pretty cool..if you like the modern highly compressed sound.. (ie like a 5150)

I've played a few & they all sounded great...I prefer my 333XL's more open, thick & slightly warmer/fatter/rounder sound personally though..

Re: hows the bugera infinium 333xl

Agreed with everything Phantasmagoria said. Mine's been solid. No issues whatsoever. They catch a bad wrap because of the issues when they first came out. I haven't heard anything negative since, really. If it means anything to you, I sold my 6505 and XXX heads and picked up 2 Bugera heads (both of which I still own).

Re: hows the bugera infinium 333xl

The main problem I have with Bugeras beyond having to fix many of them over the past few years is the simple fact that the amps aren't built optimally virtually every amp uses the exact same transformers that arent even designed to compliment one of the amps never mind most of the range.

Cheap junk. I would personally avoid them and get something better built and tech friendly such as a Jet City. Or maybe save an extra $100 and get a used decent amp.

In the end if it works fine (mine has for a year & a half) & sounds great to my ears ..I'm happy as ****. I just used it for our (my band's) upcoming CD & we're pretty happy with the results, despite it being an all-DIY affair :laugh2:

Sorry - NO idea . . .

. . . but i befriended a local muso, that has a Bugera 1960 head.

He and his band gig, twice a week - Every Week - and for the last 3 years - NO problems with the amp, what so ever.

Yes, he replaced the valves/toobs, to JJ's and that is it !
He is using a Marshall 1960 cab / late 70's model. Stock, afaik.

I remember testing their 6262 just when it came out.
I did not like the tone, but then again, i tested it for 15min max, (with an Epi LP with EMG's in it) through it's matching Bugera cab.
