how bright is bright? lol...
not decided anything..
I can get my hands on a bbq/rio grande set
a copule things that bother me a bit..
first off, the bbq isn't trem spaced..but scott splawn's been puttin' them in his guitars for awhile now even with floyds..he didn't even know that they were comming f spaced now..lol...but if he still put them in his guitars, that should be enough to let me know they sound good even though the poles don't line up exactly...he hasn't steered me wrong yet..
secondly, the texas isn't four conductor...
I have a three position switch..the middle position is for split coil between the bridge and neck....and from what I understand it won't be able to be worked like this with the braided texas...so what does that mean for the middle position, ya know? I really like that sound...
I dunno what to do..I guess I could order a set new, but they ain't cheap...and it would be even more expensive if I got it f spaced...

I have owned a number of Full Shreds and they are not as bright as the tone chart suggests. I find pickups like the Scremin Demon, Pearly Gates bridge, and a few others to have more percived brightness. The Full Shred is along the same lines as the Custom 5 with more shred to it. Actually, look at the specs, I wouldnt doubt if it is infact a Custom 5 with hex poles. I have played them back to back and have noticed alot of similar things.
BTW, I think a 59 in the neck with the Shred in the bridge is a decent combo!
