HS Tele wiring

I’m having trouble getting my guitar worked correctly. It’s a Warmoth build...
STK-S6 neck
JB bridge
3-way CRL
DPDT coil split
1 vol, 1 tone

I can’t find a diagram that is exactly what I need, but I thought it had it figured out. The guitar had extremely low output. I tried switching wires, eliminating the coil tap and tone, and still low output. I went ahead and gutted the wiring for a fresh start.

Re: HS Tele wiring

Can you post a pic of how you (had) it wired? Do you want the coil split switch to also split the stack?

I didn’t wire the stack to the switch, but I may experiment with it after it get the guitar working properly.

I tried to follow this wiring diagram, with the exception of the stack, which has more wires and different colors.

I know this isn’t that strange of a pickup combination...Charvel used it, and there’s a post on the SD blog about it. I just can’t find a diagram.

Re: HS Tele wiring

You can utilize that diagram with your pickups by using white as hot on the Stack, leaving red unconnected, and putting black/bare to earth. Remember the only function of the red wire from the Stack is to split the pickup- which really isn't necessary to do unless you want to achieve a combination with another single (or an isolated coil of the JB) that hum cancels. The sound of the Stack will probably be louder split alone.
