Hi everybody,
I've looked around in searches on here but can't find anything on the question I've got: I am going for an HSH Strat (hot rails in the neck & bridge) and desire to coil-split the two humbuckers. No need to mess with series/parallel toggling. I have a DPDT switch described as "on-on-on" that I would like to use for the coil-splitting, and am wondering if it can be rigged up as follows:
Pos. 1: both coils on, on both humbuckers (HSH guitar)
Pos 2: no cirucuit wired in (hoping this can serve as a mute/killswitch)
Pos. 3: both humbuckers coil tapped (SSS guitar)
Additional info:
5 way pickup selector switch, normal strat selector switch wiring.
1 volume
2 tone knobs (neck & mid), (bridge)
Is this possible or am I misunderstanding the function of a DPDT on-on-on switch?
I am attaching a diagram I downloaded from Seymour Duncan- I notice that it is for a push/pull split but thought a DPDT switch would be wired basically the same. Am I on the right track with this diagram? I know most wiring diagrams typically leave the neck as a stand-alone tone pot and link the bridge and middle for the second so I would have to modify at least that much...Also, I do have a 5-way super switch and a push/push volume knob that came off a Fender S-1 switching setup, and I can use those parts if I need to or it would be better; I was hoping to avoid having to make that many connections. Anybody who understands this stuff and has time to post is much appreciated.
