HSH configuration: middle single coil -> 4 wires (only 2 on the diagram)

Re: HSH configuration: middle single coil -> 4 wires (only 2 on the diagram)

As always

Red+white together

Green = ground (back of pot)
Black = signal

It's not that hard... the schematic is for pure single coils. Yours is a stack. I.e. noiseless. I.e.: a humbuckers. Just combine it all.

Okay, thank you.

But the classic stack plus has no green wire; it does has a bare wire called drain.

I assume this drain wire would be the wire I attach to the back of the pot?

Sorry for the dumb question but it is my first time changing pickups :)

Yes, the bare wire goes to the back of the pot.

Okay, one more question:

As you can see in the Classic Stack plus diagram, the "4th" connection of the switch goes to the "5th" and then to the volume pot.

While in the HSH diagram the "4th" connection immediately goes to the volume pot.

How should I wire it?

Shows that for Stack Plus pickups:
White: Hot
Red: Split (taped)
Black: Ground
Bare: Drain/chassis ground

How should I wire it?

The first uses the second pole of the switch to select which tone control is active in which position. The second diagram uses a master tone, so it doesn't require a connection to the other pole of the switch. It's up you to choose if you have a master tone or multiple tone controls.

Since I have one tone knob, I guess the direct (switch to volume pot) connection will do it.

Thank you very much!

Re: HSH configuration: middle single coil -> 4 wires (only 2 on the diagram)

Yeah, I already figured that out :)

Thx anyway
I didn't realize the original thread was from a week ago. I was more addressing it toward Orpheo and GuitarDoc. :)

You are correct. Hope it sounds awesome!

Re: HSH configuration: middle single coil -> 4 wires (only 2 on the diagram)

Actually, either of those diagrams in post #6 does exactly the same thing.
