HSH wiring?

Re: HSH wiring?

Looks good! So tone for neck and middle, tone for bridge, and a 10k resistor to dampen your humbucker splits? That sounds pretty user friendly.

I never understood bridge wide open in a strat. To me it's logical to have neck and bridge on the same tone control as on a normal set up you can't select them both at the same time and the middle should have it's own as you can select middle with either.

I'm talking about using a resistor to lower the load of the volume pot, not in series with a tone cap. Do I put it between the volume output and jack?

Ahh ok, to turn a 500k into a 300k pot you need approximately 900k to 1 meg resistor across the 2 outer lugs.

Or you could do it from the input of the volume pot to the ground of the jack.

I was considering the exact same mod for the new middle pickup tone pot on my HSH strat. I am going to see how it goes with out and probably run it on 4 or 5.

Thanx. It ended up sounding better just using the 250k tone pot with a .1uf cap to roll off the treble instead of using resistors to load the 250k volume more.
