Like I said above, after you swap the wires you could turn the humbuckers around so that the coil goes from outer to inner. Both coils are identical. It will just be silly to have the logo upside down [emoji4]

Just to confirm: to get outer coils running in 2 and 4, since I’m using Seymour Duncan humbuckers,

Red goes where black was

White and bare to ground

Black and green goes where red and white where?

Correct, and just to add, it’s not so much that it’s a hsh configuration, but that a lot of the disappointment comes from how close together the two active coils are.
