What's your favourite hss 'set'?

Whether it be single brand or a cross-brand mix, what combination floats your boat and what is it that makes them click for you?

The one I chose was a rw/rp Classic Stack in the neck, Five Two in the middle and 59/Custom Hybrid in the bridge. Each position is humbucking...position 3 is one coil of the Classic Stack and one of the Hybrid.

Classic Stack Plus neck/middle and 59/Custom Hybrid bridge. Or Custom Custom or Perpetual Burn in the bridge. I play that guitar a lot with our church worship band but it works great for nearly anything I want.

classic stack+ neck and middle with a custom with a3 magnet is a great setup. surfer neck and middle with a pearly gates or jazz in the bridge is another great combo

That sounds like a sweet combo.

That too. What does the A3 do for the Custom? (As opposed to a Custom Custom?)

For me, a 59/Custom with two Vintage Hot Stack Plus: balanced output and the best of both worlds, tonewise.

One is a Carvin Kiesel combo, the Carvin AP11 singles in my 2017 DC with a Kiesel Beryllium bridge.
A pair of Antiquities Surfers with a Perpetual Burn is another. Also have a SSL2 pair with a JB in my 95 Washburn USA MG 102 that really kills in that guitar.
Another killer combo is a pair of Antiquities Texas Hots with a Saturday Night Special in the bridge.
In particular, REALLY like the Perpetual burn split with a A5 true single coil. Think it has one of the very best split tones of any Duncan bridge humbucker. I prefer running true single coils in an HSS set up. If you run it right, only the neck and middle positions will be true single coil and non-humbucking. With a 5 way you can have true strat chimy tones in every position then full thick burcker tones in the bridge.

The Texas Hot/ Saturday Night Special is one combo no one ever talks about that is a killer.
Check this demo out of that combo.

I also prefer true singles in hss.
How do the eq curves of those humbuckees compare to one another?

Seems like there is a clear line of what people like from the rest of the posts. Apart from your response the classic stack(+) and PG/hybrid/custom options seem very popular.
