HSS players... Is this overkill?

I'm putting an Area 58/Area 67/Tone Zone S combo in my strat. I'm thinking of wiring a combination of the 2 attached diagrams, to get 1 switch for series/parallel bridge and a 2nd switch for bridge on/off. Has anyone used this type of setup? Do you think it's more than necessary? http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/6042f66b...tdualsnd_0.pdfhttp://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/6042f674...ddbridge_0.pdf

As someone who plans to wire up my own HSS so it has a 3 way switch that allows my bridge pup to be either in split coil mode, in series humbucker mode or in parallel humbucker mode, naturally I say it's not overkill. I am hoping the parallel mode gives me a Tele-ish kind of tone. I will be converting to a Master Tone control sertup so i can use the 3rd pot hole for my 3 way switch.

Instead of a bridge pup on/off switch, there is an alternative approach where you can add a blend control pot for the bridge pickup, so you can dial in how much of the bridge pup you want. I attached an example diagram. Most diagrams that add this feature, have you convert one of your tone controls to a Master Tone control so you free up the 2nd tone control to be rewured as the blend control. You have the option instead of installing a dual concentric pot (whuch is 2 pots in one) which you can wire to be your Neck and Middle Tone pots, and convert one of the remaining tone pota to the blend control.

Your links weren't working for me, so i attached them here as pics.

I've wired up three guitars with crazy switching options now. . . and ended up rewiring each of them for fewer sounds. :P

Versatility is not as important as having a few great sounds easily selectable.
