HSS wiring, with 5 way switch and ability to split Humbucker

I would like to wire a Jb and two SSL-6's with a Megaswitch E, 5-way switch. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electro...nobs/Megaswitch_E-Model.html?tab=Instructions

I would like the ability to split the JB when in the 1st possition, preferably with a second toggle switch.

Any ideas?

This shows a p/p switch for splitting the humbucker, but the wiring is the same if you use a mini toggle switch.

Here's where I'm getting confused though. The Megaswitch shows the White/Red wires going to the 5-way switch. does that no longer happen? Shouldn't one positions send the White/Red to the switch, and the other position to ground?

Red and white are the coil tap.

If you are using this wiring setup...

Humbucker/single-coil/single-coil
Point # Wire assignment
1 middle pickup hot wire
2 neck pickup hot wire
3 output to volume pot
4 ground to volume pot
5 empty
6 bridge pickup coil tap
7 bridge pickup hot wire

.... then you'd connect red & white to lug #6, and black to lug #7. The green and bare wires should still be grounded to the back of your volume pot.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

No. When they go to the switch, they will automatically get the coil split depending on the position of the switch and where the wires are connected to the switch. If you want control of when to split the hummer, the red and white wires need to go to an independent switch only. Then, regardless of the position of the 5-way, you can split the hummer only by switching the mini or p/p switch. So you can have it full hummer or split in all 5-way switch positions at your choice.
