I have an HSS Strat that I received as a gift when I was a kid. In the last few months, I have started trying to learn guitar. I want to change the pick guard and components to this guitar for appearance sake. A buddy of mine that plays suggested if i'm going to do all that, go ahead and change the pickups. I really like the pearly gates humbucker for the bridge, but i'm not sure about the neck and middle pickups. He suggested a little duckbucker in the middle, and a lil '59 in the neck. He also suggested texas specials and ssl1/5. Can someone please help me with this? Types of music I wish to play in the future would be Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, think classic rock, southern rock, blues, and country. The SD Profiler suggested a Vintage Hot Stack Plus in the neck and middle with a 59/Custom Hybrid Trembucker.

The Little 59 and Duckbucker are great suggestions. Keep the Pearly Gates since you like it. No reason to swap out something you like.

You're changing the pickguard for appearance sake? The pup options you list will still be an HSS configuration, so no need to change the pickguard, just the pups.

The PG or the C/59 would both be good choices for the bridge.
