Hubba, hubba, hubba...

Re: Hubba, hubba, hubba...

Gibson channeling Hamer, now that Hamer is gone the way of the dodo.

Wonder what the 'custom wound custom buckers' are.

Interesting that it has the Fender style Klusons. I'm not a figured top guy by any means, but a bit of subtle wave as here is nice.

Nice going by big G overall. Some colours besides natural would be cool too.

Re: Hubba, hubba, hubba...

Yup,first thought was Hamer here,too.

Since they're done, wonder how much the old Standards have gone up...

Re: Hubba, hubba, hubba...

Wow! Ive never been big on natural colors, but with that figured top and trap inlays, I could so see myself loving that!

Just looked at the price and almost spit coke on my monitor.. I coulda bought Punisher for less and I like that alot more

In case anyone was curious. Anyone's guess how long it will stay on the Wildwood site though.

The Explorer is my favorite guitar to play sitting down, and my least favorite to play standing up.

Speaking of copies..........

Speaking of copies..........

For 5K It needs a nicer top with no Black flecks in it.

Hamer made this one best.

Well, yeah, but at least they didn't put robot tuners on it and Dusk Tiger pups :).

The Gibber is over 5K, why? What makes it that much? New Hamer Standards like the Explorer were 3K IIRC and they came loaded for Life! Are we to pay for the man hours to build the Gibber? Hamer's workmanship would be worth equal value and I feel the price point was a good one for a Hamer. Or is it the woods used? For a 2 Thousand Dollar difference I wanna know why the Gibber should be priced at that.
Looks like one piece Mahogany body. Hamer had that.

<---- just bitter Hamer has been retired as a brand. :23:

I will be honest, as many as I own(ed), I have never bought a brand new Hamer. I did buy a new The Paul in 1978 though. :headbang:
