Hum cancelling question about SD jazzmaster pickups

I have a hot jazzmaster bridge and a vintage jazzmaster neck pickup set and I'm wandering if it's supposed to be hum cancelling in the middle position or do I need to swap the magnets?

The neck is supposedly pre-wired RWRP. SD usually switches the wire insulation colors on its RWRP pickups at the factory, so the white or yellow is always the hot and the ground is always the black.

You'll only get hum canceling, of course in P2 with both pickups active. If you wire one in back to front it'll be out of phase and you'll get little to no output in P2.

cant really swap magnets on a jazzmaster pup, but a neck and bridge duncan should be humcancelling in the middle. there might be a bit of hum since the two are mismatched but i dont usually find that to be an issue

You can easily test that by holding the pickups top-to-top. If they repell they are RP. Then it is a matter of also wiring them RW, which most likely is achieved by wiring the same color wire from both pickups together (because a RP pickup is almost certainly also RW).
