I have a Strat with SD pickups, an STK-S6 at the neck, an SSL-5 as middle and a Red Devil at the bridge. I started out with a Little 59 at the bridge and then everything was nice and quiet, just a little hiss with distortion, that is the same in all different settings. Now I switched the Little 59 for the Red Devil and in parallel mode everything is fine, the same in split mode, but in serial mode a hum is introduced. on sustained notes the hum will drown out the note when dying out, which is very annoying.
I went over all wires and connections and couldnt find anything wrong. Because there are a lot of wires, I eventually rewired everything, paying extra close attention to every wire I added, measuring the connections, make sure there are no nicks in the wires, or unwanted connection because of bare pieces of wires being bend when closing the guitar, anything touching the shielding, but I cant find anything that reduces the hum.
Does anyone have any advise on where a hum can come from, or how to deal with it, when a Red Devil is in serial mode?
