Humbucker and Single to match WLH

Hey everyone,

I put a Whole Lotta Humbucker set and a Texas Antiquity in my HSH Ernie Ball Music Man Silhouette awhile back. It sounds good but I want to see if I can make it even better...

The bridge WLH is awesome. Crunchy and warm with some heat behind it, but not so much heat that it can't clean up or sound too pushed. Apply filth when needed and it's up to the challenge. It's just perfect for my style and it's here to stay.

I want to experiment with other options is in the middle and neck. The neck WLH is a little too warm for my taste and comes across as a little muddy to my ears. I'm looking for something that will have a great lead sound in the neck but sound clear and defined while matching with the bridge and middle.

Maybe it's the fact that I'm using 500k pots, but the Texas Antiquity has never been my cup of tea in this guitar. Matching the output from pickup to pickup can be a challenge sometimes. Any suggestions for a middle pickup that will balance with the other two and sound great with 500k pots?

Thanks for any advice you have.

yup, ssl6 in the middle with a 500k pot sounds good to me. for the neck, if you think the wlh is too warm try the jazz neck

SSL6, Quarter Pound, or SSL-5 will work. The Hot Strat Stack is another good choice.

I'm definitely gonna take your advice on the middle single coil. I'll try the SSL-5 or SSL-6 first. Thanks for the advice. That was my primary concern with the guitar. I'm sure I can put the Antiquity to good use elsewhere.

How about a Jazz for the neck? It is open, defined, slightly scoopy in the mids. If you want bigger bass with still a scoopy sound, go with a 59.
