Humbucker for Ash guitar

Ok. So before I just go with my "I'm not sure so I'll just slap a JB in there..." go to solution, I thought I would see what you guys think. The guitar is an ash body, maple neck with ebony board. Set neck construction. Fixed bridge. I'll be playing through my Splawn Quick Rod. I do the hard rocks..lol! Unfortunately, the pickup routes are not quite long enough to put a PATB in them... already tried that. Although a standard trembucker fits just fine. So what are your thoughts?

If you wanna go the custom shop route then the Brobucker (Frankenstein model too) may slay in an ash body. I know you like pickups on the hotter end of the spectrum. The pegasus is tight & thick. Even the Becker would probably rock

Without knowing what you want out of a bridge pickup, I'd suggest a 59/Custom, which sounds great in ash without the compression of a JB. It is also great split. If you want something heavier, go with a set of Black Winters.

The Perpetual Burn might be fun to try in place of a JB! Others that come to mind...Suhr Aldrich or SSH+, DiMarzio AT-1 or Norton

Ash would have lot's of bass and treble, maple and ebony will make it all sound tight and with plenty of highs too. Now the question is if you want to emphasize those freqencies and keep the twangy nature of it or you prefer to bring out more mids? Not sure what will work humbucker wise but I have an Ash strat which sounds wicked with Alnico 3 single coils. These pickups sounded terrible in an Alder body with the same neck. Didn't have the bite and the oomph anymore.

I use a spawn street rod for rock and blues so we probably have similar ears..

My primary Ash guitar uses Joe Barton's which are very articulate but probably not the right answer matching it with a spawn.

With that said, I like mincers 58/custom and hope you will share results whatever you decide upon.

Maybe I've been listening to too much Dokken lately. lol! I dropped in a TB-6. It may or may not be a permanent thing, but I'm digging it at the moment. I had a BKP Holy Diver in the guitar previously, and found that particular pickup to be overly bright and lacking "umph." I try to get all of my guitars to sound balanced for lack of a better description. I wanted this guitar to have a more modern flavor. My playing style for my band sits somewhere between Jerry Cantrell and EVH. (Can't even begin to play like EVH, but I like to pretend.)
