Humbucker Help

I have been playing mostly Strat and Tele type guitars for many years and I've decided to build a carved top guitar with two humbuckers. The body will be chambered Walnut so I expect it to at least slightly less dark than Mahogany. I don't play any metal so I'm more interested in a searing blues tone than one overly compressed or distorted.

My only (and very limited) experience has been with humbucking bridge pickups in Strats or Strat-like guitars. Having said that, I had a dual humbucker Schecter with a JB in the bridge and a 59 in the neck and neither particularly suited me. I replaced the neck PU with a Jazz and that helped ... especially with both pups combined whether in series or parallel, but I never experimented with the bridge pup.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: Humbucker Help

A Jazz with a 59/Custom Hybrid would be great for high-energy blues without sounding too compressed. You'd get great touch-sensitivity and a good split sound, too.

BRIDGE
I should have mentioned tremolo spacing, but I see the TB-16 will work. Is it available covered, or would that be a floor shop custom?

NECK
It looks like the Jazz, and the 59 Neck are very similar specification wise, and the Saturday Night Special and Benedetto P.A.F. are both possibly slightly hotter, but I like that they are offered with covers which suits the aesthetics of the build I have in mind if the highs are not overly attenuated. Would either of those still be fairly balanced with the 59/Custom Trembucker?

I believe the TB-16 can be ordered covered through the Shop Floor Custom program. As far as the other pickups, any of them would be a great choice with the Hybrid.
