I have a H/S/S Strat and want to put a JB SH-4 in the bridge. do i need a regular SH-JB or the TB TREMBUCKER TB-4 since my Strat has a tremelo bar. i did the measuring thing and it looks to me like a regular JB will fit just fine. thanks for your expert help...................... joe

I have a "regular" spaced humbucker in my strat and it sounds great. If you don't mind the strings not lining up with the polepieces, you're good.

*edit*

I forgot....... Welcome to the forum.

if you havent bought it yet i would go for the trembucker. if you cant find one or already have the normal spaced one then just use that. for 90% of people 90% of the time on 90% of trem guitars it wont make any difference

That's right. The normal spaced humbucker will work just fine, but the Trembucker will work even better because your E strings will line up over the polepieces like they're supposed to.

My Big Apple Strat has a regular spaced bridge humbucker. It sounds really good but the E strings don't line up over the polepieces. When I bend my high E string, I can hear it get louder when I bend it up because the string is pulled over the polepiece where it should be.

I dunno - some guys say they don't hear any difference but I do.

Some guys also say they like the tone of regular spaced humbuckers better than the Trembucker. I've not heard a big diff between the two but maybe...

thanks guys !!! i'm trying to trade the black JB for a white one so i guess i'll be happy if either the regular SH-4 or the TB-4 comes my way to match the Artic White Strat. i know it makes a way bigger difference on my Ibanez RG's which all have Floyd trems and i always get the " f-spaced" pups . have a great day gentlemen ................ and thanks again. joe

Trembucker, if nothing else, it's designed to line up with your strat's strings... so from a cosmetic standpoint it'll "fit". The JB in trembucker form is the TB-4, and I would do some research on the jB before buying it, it's a VERY picky pickup that sounds good in some guitars, and like an icepick with a flubby bass in others.

Fitting is not the problem. The outer dimensions and the legs and mount are the same.

Only the polepiece spacing is different.
