it's very doubtful.. how would you do that? The only way I could see is Seymour Duncan's Phat Cats.... real P-90's in a humbucker housing.

yeah but they're alnico 2 & I'm going for sort of an es-295 vibe

and 295's have alnico 5's

IIRC, P-90s are wider than humbuckers, so you'd need to move some wood first. I'm sure you could get about anything you want from the CS, if you want to call them.

P90s are simply too wide to fit for a humbucker. To put it short as MRID said, "no".

would it be possible to swap out the alnico 2's of the phat cats for alnico 5's. Just an idea, i have no clue if it would work, but i remember hearing someone talking about doing some manget switching in pups.

It definitely sounds like it could be done. I'm not sure alnico 5s would work better though, they may be too bright for the pup. Alnico 2s are warmer to my ears.

oh. i was just typing the seemingly obvious solution, knowing nothing at all about magnet swapping, or the pup.....so dont really listen to what i say, it was just an idea....

Drop him a line. He makes great pups, and has a new P90/humbucker design that I know he's been refining for a long time. I was talking to him about it over a year ago. It's not up on his site yet. Nice guy.
Have you tried the Phat Cats or P94s first to know for sure that they won't do it for you?

The SD Custom shop could probably bang out some Phat Cats with different mags for ya. If not that then surely something else.
