Humbucker static noise only when hitting a note or chord

Hi , my first post here .

Joined this forum because I bought a second hand Epiphone dot for fun project to upgrade it with either Seth Lovers or '59s .

Got the guitar today and it seems to be surprisingly playable and needs only minor tweaks , flip one bridge piece to get intonation right and little setup things . Maybe a new nut to replace plastic one .

Just plugged it to amp for the first time with Epiphone pickups and there had to be something chinese as it was very cheap :-D

Neck pickup works well but the bridge pickup makes a static noise when hitting a chord or note . Otherwise it noisless and the static dies as the string(s) stops vibrating .
Things I thought could cause this :
Faulty or badly soldered capasitator , badly soldered pickup cover , some other grounding issue or bad pickup ?

I'll find out when I get the SD pickups and put them in , but has anyone experienced this kind of problem ?

I dont know if its worth while to change the pots and whole wiring harness while I'm at it allthough I was planning to leave them as they are .

Try the pickup selector 1st. Change the pots, if the guitar plays nice, who cares about it's monetary value? Welcome to the forum

Thanks ,

Yes the selector was giving up and died . I'll have to play with this more to see if its worth upgrading , some tuning issues still . It might just need some more finishing before I replace pickups , all wiring/electronics .
