I used my new 100 watt soldering iron for the first time today. It was crazy! Giant crags of solder all over the back of pots were decimated, melted, and cleaned up immediately by the beast.

Just be careful not to cook the pots.

yeah, although my gear rolling days are over, and so I wont be doing much soldering anymore, I decided i want to get serious about doing it clean as well as getting it done.. That and with my last project not working right.... I really want to learn proper technique
So, I bought a hotter iron, a desoldering braid and the little container of whatever its called to clean of the tip.. in the past, Ive always just scraped excess off with a pocket knife (which messes up the tip) or wiped it off in a damp cloth.
