Hybrid from Coils Wound in the Same Direction

Has anyone made a hybrid from coils wound in the same direction, swapping the start wire for the end wire on one coil?

I would expect it to work since it changes the direction of current, but wonder if there may still be some deal breaker since the wind would start from the outside of the coil rather than the inside.

Apparently Duncan humbucker coils Are wound the same direction. You just wire them in series with the finishes together to make it reverse wound. However if you do wire it same wind opposite polarity its out of phase. Rwrp is in phase and hum cancelling and same wind same polarity is in phase not hum cancelling. I just made a hybrid from 2 regular single coils both same wind same polarity and it worked great.

However if you do wire it same wind opposite polarity its out of phase.

The coils share the same magnet so with the standard side-by-side configuration the field lines go from the top to the bottom of one coil and from the bottom to the top of the other. It would be out of phase if they are wound in the same direction and you connect the start of one coil to the finish of the other. I'm not a fan of the sound so I definitely wouldn't be doing this.
