Hello, I just got a Duesenberg Starplayer TV. (1 P90, and 1 humbucker) I need to get more sounds out of it. I need at minimal a coil split for the humbucker, and a good out of phase sound. In experimenting I wired up a CTS push pull for coil split But that knocks out the wired to middle on the 3-way out of phase sound. It just goes dead. Also, Factory wiring puts a .022 cap on the North finish, and the south start twist to the switch which lets the bass freqs. from the P90 (domino 90) through which gives it a "half" out of phase sound. It retains good, equal volume, but too much bass and neck pickup sound. It sounds Great clean, but with overdrive it's too muddy and not "out of phase" enough. If I remove the cap it's more balanced out of phase but a little too much volume drop and power so a dirty sound is too clean so it doesn't provide a good balance. On my les paul I rewired my burstbuckers to be 4-conductor and did the "jimmy page?" type mod. The same out of phase is there,(and coil splits) but it has more volume/output and therefore able to hit the amp harder. Also, I can switch it to series and it has even more output. like ? Brian May OOP sound. what's up there? I'd like to be able to have both the humbucker coil split and a more balance(higher output OOP sound) Any suggestions? Is a hyper switch an option? thanks!
