I am Iron Strat...

I recently did a body swap on a Strat with a beat up sunburst body.... I know someone who likes the relic look and I don’t. Both bodies are American Standard bodies do not concerned about the swap. Anyways, the new colour scheme wasn’t intended at all... but it tuned in to Tony Starks signature Strat. I think it’s pretty cool at least.

Add a middle pickup that lights up.

Not something I would think I'd like if it were described to me...but it sort of works! Congrats on the (new) old guitar!

Re: I am Iron Strat...

I agree,if asked if I was interested in an Iron Man gold and Chrome Red Strat by description alone I’d likely just pass. I’d describe this as a neat chance medley of components. Definitely different than my traditional schemed guitars. Redid the pickguard before assembly with the SSL-5 and SSL-1s in the drawer. The SSL-5 works nice in this one... prior installs lacked appropriate treble/presence. Very happy with the way this looks and sounds.

Re: I am Iron Strat...

one of those "stick anywhere" round closet LEDs
and mount it just below the pickups

or sharpie some black "eye and mouth slits"

Re: I am Iron Strat...

That bright white maple neck just looks too out of place to me. IMO rosewood would look so much better.

I don't know...the whole thing just doesn't look right. I guess it's really not my thing.

Re: I am Iron Strat...

More than anyone else, my six year old son loves it. He has a a Squire Mini and is big into super heros. Considering I’ve got sunburst/parchment, butterscotch/black, vintage white/parchment, shoreline/pearl Strats, one that’s a bit odd adds a little fun.
