I am no Hendrix....

Let it B
But I think I came up with something that sounds pretty cool* Details at end of clip.

The Camera mic unfortunately kills some bite/high end that is present in the room.

* keep in mind, I am not a Hendrix disciple, I only know some bits and pieces , which is a travesty I plan on making up for in the next few months.

Re: I am no Hendrix....

I wish I was a catfish.

Thats one of my fave covers of his. Hendrixhad such a genuine and raw approach to the blues that none of his british peers did.

Thanks everyone for the listens and comments. I have been playing with that model for a week. I never could dial it in very well with buckers or my tele, but it works perfect with the strat. Pull off the echo and back the gain down, and it does a convincing SRV too.

Nice, Jeff.

Seems you and I are thinking along the same lines. I was just pulling out some old Guitar World mags with some Hendrix songs in them last night and fiddling around. I think studying Jimi is my next little project. Lick Library has a Jam with Jimi Hendrix 2 DVD + CD set teaching 7 songs that I think I'm considering or Smash Hits guitar play Along CD/Book.

Re: I am no Hendrix....

Dude, that sounds great. Is this what kept you from amp shopping? :d

What model is that? I can't hear a thing that you said the end.

Re: I am no Hendrix....

Nah, just the stores are a good hour away from me, and my back has been acting up after some heavy lifting. 2 hours of driving would have been a nightmare.

Its a Fender Super Reverb with tape delay....no pedals. Guitar straight in.

Re: I am no Hendrix....

Sounds awesome!

You been listening to the Valleys of Neptune album? That Red House intro was nigh verbatim!
