I am ordering a Screamer 50 combo this week!!

.... before the Diezel Einstein (at $3199) even becomes available so I am not too tempted!!

For the money (about $1200) the ENGL Screamer 50 seems like a hell of a little amp. The only thing I don't like is that all channels share an EQ but I use a clean channel about 10% of the time and for recording I can easily just adjust the EQ so it suites whatever channel I am recording. I am also going to order the ENGL closed back 1X12 with a Vintage 30. That should cut any jam/gig situation I may encounter. I have never tried this amp. I am going only off HC reviews, Marinblues sound clips, and a few other MP3s I found on the net.

Think I need the $175 footswitch?? That is a little high for a footswitch that CAME free with my VHT. The footswitch allows you to direct access all 4 channels (not really channels but different gain levels).

Any of our European bros tried this little sucker?

Well, it looks really sweet, but i haven't tried it. Looks interesting!

$175 footswitch? Lol..... thats the same price as for a new squier guitar

I would spend the $$ on the footswitch...just me. I also don't think the shared eq will be a problem. I used to think that, but since I heard GJ's Silver Jubilee with a shared eq....my opinion has changed.

The Engl is supposed to have a wicked sound...can't wait until you get it and give us a review.

I believe Bob Zabek uses that amp, and he's got an INCREDIBLE clean tone and some pretty tasty OD to boot. You should be more than happy with the amp .

The shared EQ doesn't bother me on this amp... the settings are pretty universal for me. The footswitch is definitely worth it for me, really high quality.

I think I've seen one at Scotts, but haven't played it. He always has such nice amps it' hard to notice them all. I've e-mailed Scott a couple of times and have not received a response from him...he's usually pretty good, but lately the service seems to be off.

I had one of these, and it is freakin' awesome. The footswitch is very useful, considering each of the 4 channels (well...2 channels with 2 gain stages each) is great.
