I am tempted to buy this CS one-off Gibson LP

Eh...

Not that cool IMO. I just don't like the look of it.

I can see spending money like that on a guitar, if I had it to spend. But it wouldn't be that one.

Allrighty! I can't do the split diamond inlay, but I will do this...:

I was always too much of a straight shooter to be a real businessman, but ishould really look into the idea of stocking some rare blue LP guitars and selling them for good profit to some guy who can't resist buying such monstrosities... :D :outahere:

In my opinion, "monstrocity" is the perfect terminology. Ugh!

I think a lot of guys that drop $5K on guitars like this either 1) end up with a bit of buyer's remorse after the excitement wears off or 2) find something else that catches their fancy, so they sell it on to fund the next big thing. There's probably nothing wrong with the guitar and it probably wasn't played much.

That said, it's not necessarily "made to your specifications" like a truly custom guitar would be :)

Plus, in the end, it's really just a $2K LP with a $400 paint job

Doesn't even look like that! To me it looks cheap and it wouldn't ADD to the value of the guitar, in fact I'd want to talk him down $400 BECAUSE OF the paint job. Just my opinion.

If I had that blue monstrocity at half the price and Orpheo's guitar at twice the price to choose from, I'd pick Orpheo!! Everyday and twice on Sunday, so the saying goes.

I actually really like the dark blue LP, it's definitely a more modern looking interpretation of the LP. Just seems like it should be a limited run or even a high end Epiphone model, LOL. $1500? Absolutely. $4500? No way!

Orpheo, just curious, do you round your fretboard edges at all? Just wondering because they look pretty sharp/square in that pic. Nice headstock, by the way! Kind of a subtle art deco flair to it.

I can round it off as much as you like. That one is... barely round, like an aristides;)

The Stork is my new standard headstock inlay, congruent with the split diamond;)
