I and my friend build pickups for me

Hi!
I tried many humbuckers, which you recommended me.
My friend is a guitar pickup constructor.
We've built a humbucker that suits me.
I'm finally thinking about cover vs open coil (optionally shielding the coils).
Which option will give me the least noise?
He have silver/nickiel covers which they really are brass nickel coated.
Cover seems to be great shield, but I read that sometimes they have problems with coupling.

are they actually brass covers? if so, i would leave the coils open. how did you make the humbucker?

He sent me humbucker, which best suited my requirements. He sent me it with different magnets and different polepieces. I tried them all and I chose the best options.
if I do the shielding of the coil with a break, it will not change the sound?

If I will put on a plastic humbucker cover with copper tape glued inside, something like that:

this shouldn't change the sound too, because it eliminate eddy currents?

In the sum up generously shared online by Ken Wilmott, there's still a slight difference of resonant peak between uncovered pickups and those fitted with a "slotted" cover. See the last page here:

Now, it's difficult to measure such things without parasitic interaction between the testing rig and the response of the pickup so, nothing replaces personal and direct musical experience IMHO (reason why I take with a grain of salt most experimental results about Foucault currents in guitar pickups, even when I"ve collected these results myself).
